In order to participate in the 2023-2024 season, you must have a current USA wrestling card. The fee for this card is included in your registration payment.

How will we get into tournaments/pay for tournaments?

Links to register and pay for tournaments will be emailed to all Jr Porter families as well as posted on our website as they become available. 

First year wrestlers and new to our club wrestlers need to submit a copy of their birth certificate. Please send a copy to jrporters@gmail.com

COACHING

Thank you for your interest in volunteering to help coach the Jr. Porters wrestling program.  It is volunteers like you that make the program possible.  The Jr. Porters wrestling club primary goal is to get the kids to love the sport of wrestling and continue wrestling through high school.  

There are a few requirements to be able to coach during tournaments.  Please follow the steps below as soon as possible to ensure no delays in getting in getting certified to coach.

All coaches must have a USA wrestling leadership membership

To obtain wrestling leadership go to:

1. If you this is your first time you will need to create an account.

2. All coaches will be required to take 3 SafeSport training course included with USA Wrestling Membership

3. All coaches are now required to have at least a copper certification to coach at tournaments. Certification requires you to take an on-line course. The certification does not expire so once you are certified you will never need to take the course again. To get copper certified go to the link below:

Prerequisites and Curriculum:

Participants must be a current coach member of USA Wrestling (requiring a successful background check and three-part SafeSport certification - both accessed from your membership profile) before attending the clinic (either in-person or online).  Please allow 7-14 days for your background check to be completed before planning to attend a certification course. The SafeSport course is free and lasts 90 minutes. It is also accessed from your membership profile. Please ensure the email address on your profile is valid before making payment (and that no other coach has used this email to take a USA Wrestling course).

Copper Certifications consist of a 4 hour classroom (with your state office) or online clinic with testing after each Module. Coach certifications with USA Wresting are valid for life - unless removed for disciplinary actions.
